Ken Swan is a Principal of Kiwi Partners and has over 30 years of senior level financial and strategic management experience in the nonprofit field in highly complex and diverse organizations. Since joining Kiwi Partners in 2001, Ken has led many clients through great change. Ken has been interim CFO at a number of large and small clients and has provided powerful insight into every organization he has worked with, leading to strategic changes within many of those organizations. While at Kiwi Partners, Ken has lead engagements at the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development, Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, Riverside Church in New York City, the New York City Leadership Academy, the Hastings Center, the Legal Aid Society of NYC and Pace University.
Prior to joining Kiwi Partners, Ken was Chief Financial Officer for Helen Keller International and the YWCA. He spent 15 years at the Parish of Trinity Church and was responsible for financial management of this venerable 300-year-old New York institution. He also oversaw the affiliated commercial entities of the Church.
Ken is highly experienced in managing all areas of financial accounting, and reporting functions. He is experienced in management information system assessments, installations and conversions. Ken also has experience with a variety of fund providers and has arranged long term financing for a number of Kiwi Partners clients. He has hands on experience in restructuring and remediation planning, and has assisted in the development of business plans for a number of organizations.
Ken’s public accounting experience was with Alexander Grant & Company, where he audited both commercial and nonprofit clients. He was an Audit Manager with the New York State Attorney General’s Office for Hospital Fraud and Abuse. Ken is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and completed his undergraduate studies at Jacksonville University. He is the Finance Chair of St. Margaret’s House Housing Development Fund Corporation and the former Treasurer of Leewood Golf Club.
